14 trucks and vans loaded with solidarity have departed in the last few days for the Valencian Community to collaborate with the thousands of people affected by the DANA that hit the region last Tuesday. Due to the overflow of donations, the collection has been suspended for the moment. This has been made known by Nuria Moreno, spokeswoman for the Cultural Association Comunitat Valenciana de Sant Antoni and Sa Nostra. “Since the first seven trucks left on Friday and two that left from Madrid, we overflowed the facilities and the Consell offered us the facilities of sa Coma. Now we are receiving everything in sa Coma, until today. Today the campaign is over for the moment, until further notice and until we know what more needs the Valencian society has“, he explained to La Voz de Ibiza.

The organization of the aid began last Wednesday, when “the Valencian Board met and we proposed to collect what the Valencian citizenship needed”. In addition, he explained that everything collected has been directed to the City Council of Algemesí, where most of the members are from. Moreno thanked the predisposition of Mayor Marcos Serra and the head of the Local Police, who “proposed us to make the collection in the facilities of the City Council, the Local Police and have behaved very well”.
More shipments
There are still several trailers of clothes and blankets to be sent, and another one “full of beds and mattresses that we have organized to go and pick them up from the hotels”, he explains. “We are overwhelmed,” he summarized, while remarking the solidarity of the Ibizan society “super committed, super collaborative. Many volunteers have also come to help us and entrepreneurs. There are no words to thank so much involvement of the Ibizan society”. “We have more than 4 trailers without counting what we have left to collect from hotels and institutions. Thanks to my colleagues of La Nostra Falla that together we are doing everything possible to help the terrera. There are many people, companies, entrepreneurs, hotels, volunteers, institutions, police, civil protection and especially the people of Ibiza and the island that are the best of the best,” he said.
Food
Another group of neighbors of Ibiza organizes a shipment of hot food prepared for this Tuesday to Denia. Therefore, the collection will be between 8.30 and 9.30 this Tuesday at the port of Baleària. “We are asking for thermoses to carry hot food for children, elderly and sick people more limited. We will try to make sure that everyone has as much as we can give them together,” they have spread. In addition, they remarked that it is “important that it goes in thermoses to maintain the optimal state of food and hygiene”. This campaign is headed by Maite, a medical nutritionist on the island. “There are many sick people, many needy people, children, we carry medicines and thermoses that have been donated to us,” she explained to La Voz de Ibiza. For that reason, it needs soluble coffee, Nesquik, sugar in unidosis, bricks of broths vegetables, chicken and meat and rice. “This would be an idea for nutritional first aid,” he explained.
