The Consell de Formentera has informed theNature Protection Service (Seprona) of the Guardia Civil of the discovery of some bags with skeletal remains of dogs and other animals in a rocky cavity in the area of Es Cap.
It was an environmental agent who located the animal remains and alerted both the Animal Health technicians and the investigators of the Guardia Civil, reported the insular institution in a statement.
After an initial inspection, the veterinary services have confirmed that they are dog bones that are in a state of decomposition and were apparently deposited in the cave years ago.
In the same place, other residues of diverse nature have been found, such as bags with the remains of about 20 animals.

Now it will be the Seprona, always according to the information provided by the Consell, who will be in charge of the investigation.
The island institution has reminded that these animal remains must be properly managed to preserve the territory and guarantee the health and environmental safety of the island.
