The Municipal Football Field of Formentera will undergo a new improvement with the installation of a drinking water supply network. After the recent inauguration of the new bleachers, the Consell de Formentera has put out to tender the necessary works to connect the sports facilities to the municipal network, with a budget of 195,438.44 euros, VAT included.
The project includes the construction of an underground pipeline that will connect the connection point at the beginning of the Vell de la Mola road with the soccer field. In addition, the necessary interior connections will be defined to supply the changing rooms, bathrooms and other services of the sports complex.
The deadline for submitting bids will be open until March 3, and the company awarded the contract will have three months to carry out the work.
A project within the Water Pact
The Councilor of Economy, Territory and Infrastructures, Javier Serra, has pointed out that these works are part of the collaboration agreement with the Balearic Government, framed in the Pact for Water. This agreement contemplates an investment of 350,000 euros to improve the efficiency of the water networks on the island.
Of this amount, 320,000 euros come from the Sustainable Tourism Tax (ITS), while the remaining 30,000 euros are provided by the Consell Insular de Formentera.
In addition to the extension of the supply at the soccer field, this plan includes the renovation and updating of the pumping system of Sa Senieta, in Sant Francesc, with the aim of optimizing the use of water and guaranteeing a better service in the island’s infrastructures.
With this new action, the Municipal Soccer Field of Formentera continues its modernization process, ensuring better conditions for athletes and users.
