The urgency of the motion of censure of the opposition groups against the now former president Llorenç Córdoba in view of the alleged paralysis of the Consell Insular de Formentera due to the absence of a Governing Board contrasts with the first movements of Sa Unió after returning to the island government: a few days after taking office, half the government went on vacation.
“They said it was super urgent to throw the president out to do things and what they did was to go on vacation. The president (Óscar Portas), the first one “, said the current deputy for Formentera.
“Let it be disguised a bit, right? Stay for a month and then go on vacation. But no, they went on Christmas vacation, came back and nothing had been done. And when they have started to do things they have dedicated themselves to kick me out of office, look at the contracts and try to annul them and go against the report that the same officials have done on the kiosks (the obligation to dismantle), “has questioned Cordoba regarding the first actions of government.
According to what La Voz de Ibiza has been able to confirm, three members of the Governing Board went on vacation days after the motion of censure that apupó a Óscar Portaswhich took place on December 27th.
Precisely, the island president has been away from the island between December 31 and January 6, as officially confirmed by the Consell Insular de Formentera.
Javier Serra, questioned for not complying with the Law of Incompatibilities, left the same day he was confirmed as second vice-president and insular councilor of Territory, Infrastructure and Economy. According to records, he was on vacation from December 28 to January 2.
While Hugo Martínez, third vice-president, spokesman and island councilor for Sports and Human Resources, was absent between January 3 and 11.
“In all three cases they are due to previously scheduled trips,” argued the Consell, while defending this decision by arguing that, “even so, both the president and the councilors were aware at all times and attended all requests and calls that were made in those days”.
During those days, the first vice-president, Verónica Castelló, was in charge of the Consell, who received the Three Wise Men at the Residence for the Elderly and the Day Center, together with the Councilor for Social Welfare, Cristina Costa, and the Councilor for Culture, Youth and the Elderly, Eva Nieto.
Complicit silence
La Voz de Ibiza has tried to contact the opposition groups Gent per Formentera and Partido Socialista to get an assessment of this situation.
However, Alejandra Ferrer and Rafael Ramírez have not responded to this media’s request.
