The City Council of Santa Eulària des Riu has started the works of burying the electrical and telecommunications networks in a section of Sant Jaume street, from its beginning to the intersection with Sol street. The work, awarded to the company OFG Adquisiciones e Ingeniería S.L., involves an investment of 188,557.77 euros -VAT included- and has an expected completion period of three months. This amount is financed by the Plan Estratégico de Inversiones Municipales del Consejo Insular de Ibiza (Plan 5).
With this intervention, the Consistory seeks to improve urban aesthetics and reduce the visual impact generated by overhead power lines on one of the main access roads to the municipality. The modernization of the infrastructure will also improve the quality and performance of supply and communications services.
During the period of works, a temporary traffic light has been set up to regulate the alternative passage of vehicles, with the aim of ensuring safety and maintaining circulation in the area. The City Council has asked the neighbors to understand the possible inconvenience caused by the works and has thanked them for their cooperation.
The project is part of the municipal actions aimed at the progressive improvement of the urban center of Santa Eulària and the adaptation of its infrastructures to the current needs of the citizens.
