Santa Eulària officially welcomes Christmas this Friday, December 5, at 18:00 hours, with the traditional lighting of lights and the opening of the Mercat de Nadal. More than half a thousand decorative elements, technological innovations and a full program of activities will turn the municipality into one of the main Christmas scenes of Ibiza.
A lighting full of music and tradition
The opening ceremony will feature the participation of a hundred musicians and singers of the Youth Band, the Children’s Choir and students of initiation of the Municipal School of Music. They will be responsible for putting the soundtrack to the beginning of the festivities with carols such as The Fir Tree, Rudolph the Little Cèrvol and The Little Drummer Boy, to close with the classic Last Christmas.
For this edition, the City Council has deployed a total of 550 decorative elements between streets and buildings. All parishes have Christmas trees and some, such as Santa Gertrudis, will have a new one for the first time. Nativity scenes, small trees and figures of the Three Wise Men have also been renewed to reinforce the festive atmosphere.
As a novelty, this year the Ca na Negreta area has a completely renovated decoration after the recent improvement works.
Videomapping on the façade of the City Hall
For the second consecutive year, the façade of the Town Hall will be transformed into a visual spectacle thanks to a videomapping installation that will combine lights, color and Christmas motifs.
The projection will take place several evenings, between 19:00 and 21:00, offering an immersive experience designed to surprise both children and adults. The goal is to integrate technology and tradition to create a unique atmosphere during the holidays.
El Mercat de Nadal: more booths and more activities
The Mercat de Nadal also opens its doors this Friday with 18 booths installed in the Passeig de s’Alamera. Artisans and local businesses will offer a variety of products in an environment that, for its inauguration, will feature an artificial snow cannon that will cover the promenade in white.
Visitors will be able to have their photos taken at the special Bubble tent photocall, designed to create Christmas memories.
This year, the Mercat is extending its hours and duration:
-
Open daily, morning and afternoon
-
Sunday mornings
-
Active until January 5
The program of activities includes children’s theater, karaokes, youth dance battles, gastronomic workshops, afternoon and Latin dance classes, as well as a space dedicated to food trucks.

In total, Santa Eulària has organized more than 130 activities for this holiday season, designed for all audiences and to energize the town during the Christmas season.
