The Consell de Govern has authorizedthe Balearic Institute of Infrastructures and Educational Services (Ibisec) to spend 9.56 million euros for the construction of a new kindergarten and primary school in Santa Eulària. The center, which will be named Es Faralló, will have six infant classrooms, 12 primary classrooms and a UEECO classroom for special educational needs.
The works are expected to begin this summer and are expected to take 18 months to complete, making it a key infrastructure to meet the growing demand for school places in the municipality.
A priority investment for Santa Eulària
Santa Eulària is the town of Ibiza with the highest growth in the number of students, which has led the new center to be considered a priority action within the Educational Infrastructure Plan of the Govern. In fact, last November 8, the Consell de Govern declared this work as an investment of regional interest, accelerating its processing.
At present, the municipality has eight kindergarten and primary schools, but the increase in the school population has made it necessary to create new infrastructures.
An infrastructure plan to improve education in Ibiza
The Regional Ministry of Education and Universities has indicated that improvements in the educational centers of Ibiza are a priority within its planning. In this sense, the Educational Infrastructure Plan foresees the construction of 13 new centers in the Balearic Islands and the extension or refurbishment of 24 others in the next ten years.
With the construction of CEIP Es Faralló, Santa Eulària will have a new modern school adapted to the needs of the educational community, guaranteeing a better distribution of students and avoiding overload in the existing centers.
