The Balearic labor market registered a notable boost in October in some of its main economic sectors, especially those linked to mass consumption. According to data published Wednesday by the InfoJobs platform, 4,345 job vacancies were posted in the Balearic Islands, representing a year-on-year increase of 16.5%. However, compared to September, offers fell by 17.8%, with 943 fewer vacancies.
Logistics and customer service lead growth
The purchasing, logistics and warehousing and customer service categories have grown the most compared to last year, with increases of 59% and 70%, respectively. Both reflect the momentum of the large-scale consumer campaigns and the reinforcement of the workforce in preparation for the end of the year.
Overall, the logistics, sales, customer service and retail sectors accounted for 46% of the total number of vacancies published in the Balearic Islands in October, with a distribution of 15% in logistics and warehousing, 15% in commercial and sales, 10% in customer service and 6% in retail.
The most sought-after positions: delivery drivers, sales clerks and sales delegates
The most offered jobs in the Islands were those of delivery vehicle driver, with 519 vacancies , sales clerk, with 365, and sales representative, with 192. These three profiles, closely linked to consumption and distribution, also stand out for their evolution compared to 2024: the first has doubled its numbers, while the other two grew by 20% and 3%, respectively.
More candidates in customer service and sales
The categories with the highest volume of applications were customer service, with 2,558 candidates, and sales and commercial, with 1,145. They were followed by purchasing, logistics and warehousing (909) and retail (904).
In addition, the quality, production and R&D category stands out for its dynamism, with a 72% increase in vacancies compared to 2024 and more than 600 offers accumulated so far this year. This area has 466 applications registered in 2025.
Predominance of permanent contracts and full time contracts
Among the vacancies published, 2,076 offered permanent contracts, representing 48% of those reporting the type of contract. Temporary contracts accounted for 22% (943 positions).
In terms of working hours, the majority of the offers, 67%, were full-time, compared to 16% that offered part-time work.
Stable trend in Spain as a whole
At the national level, InfoJobs registered 239,603 vacancies in October, a figure practically identical to that of a year earlier (241,022), but 5% higher than in September.
The purchasing, logistics and warehouse (18%), commercial and sales (14%), customer service (9.5%) and retail (4%) sectors accounted for 45.5% of the offers published nationwide.
The most in-demand positions were tele-operator ( almost 18,000 vacancies), delivery driver ( 17,350) and warehouse worker (17,000).
A total of 38.8% of the vacancies offered permanent contracts, while temporary contracts accounted for 30%. In addition, 65.5% of the vacancies were full-time.
