The First Section of the Provincial Court of Palma will hold this Tuesday (12.15 pm) the preliminary hearing of the trial against a man accused of receiving a package with drugs valued at more than 45,000 euros at his home in Ibiza.
The prosecution requests that he be sentenced to eight years in prison and a fine of 120,000 euros as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health.
The facts, according to the prosecutor in his indictment, took place on June 26th. The defendant had arranged with unidentified third parties to receive a package containing MDMA and ketamine at his home.
He was under surveillance by the authorities, and the Court of Instruction number 3 of Ibiza, in charge of the investigations, authorized the substitution of the narcotics for a harmless substance and its controlled delivery.
Although it was not he but a woman who picked up the package, the man acknowledged before the examining magistrate that he was the sole responsible party and recipient of the shipment.
