Sant Carles hosts the traditional Christmas concert by pianist María José Perete

The Centre Parroquial de Sant Carles will once again become a meeting point for lovers of classical music on the occasion of the traditional Christmas concert of the Ibizan pianist María José Perete, an event already consolidated in the cultural calendar of the municipality of Santa Eulària des Riu.

The concert will offer a journey through different periods and styles of classical music, with a carefully selected repertoire that combines lyricism, depth and spirituality.

The evening will open with Paysages et Marines Op. 63 no. 1 “Sur la falaise”. by Charles Koechlin (1867-1950), a piece of a markedly descriptive character. Next, María José Perete will perform the Consolations by Franz Liszt (1811-1886), one of the Hungarian composer’s most intimate works, structured in six movements: Andante con moto, Un poco più mosso, Lento placido and Quasi adagio.

The program will continue with Prélude, Choral et Fugue by César Franck (1822-1890), one of the great works of the romantic piano repertoire, to culminate with the well-known Cantata BWV 147 “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750), a piece especially linked to the Christmas spirit.
