The Centre Parroquial de Sant Carles will once again become a meeting point for lovers of classical music on the occasion of the traditional Christmas concert of the Ibizan pianist María José Perete, an event already consolidated in the cultural calendar of the municipality of Santa Eulària des Riu.
Organized by the City Council, the recital will take place on Sunday, January 11, at 7 p.m., and will have free admission until full capacity is reached, an opportunity for neighbors and visitors to enjoy a quality cultural proposal in a nearby and emblematic environment.
A classic and evocative program
The concert will offer a journey through different periods and styles of classical music, with a carefully selected repertoire that combines lyricism, depth and spirituality.
The evening will open with Paysages et Marines Op. 63 no. 1 “Sur la falaise”. by Charles Koechlin (1867-1950), a piece of a markedly descriptive character. Next, María José Perete will perform the Consolations by Franz Liszt (1811-1886), one of the Hungarian composer’s most intimate works, structured in six movements: Andante con moto, Un poco più mosso, Lento placido and Quasi adagio.
The program will continue with Prélude, Choral et Fugue by César Franck (1822-1890), one of the great works of the romantic piano repertoire, to culminate with the well-known Cantata BWV 147 “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750), a piece especially linked to the Christmas spirit.
A pianist with international projection
María José Perete combines her interpretative activity with teaching. Since 2021 she is part of the faculty of the Conservatory of Ibiza, after developing an outstanding international career.
Throughout his career he has won awards in various piano competitions and has performed as a soloist in classical music cycles and festivals both in Spain and abroad.
In the pedagogical field, in addition to his current work in Ibiza, he has taught in conservatories in France, consolidating a professional profile that combines artistic experience and educational vocation.
With this new edition of the Christmas concert, Santa Eulària des Riu reaffirms its commitment to classical music and local talent, offering an accessible and quality cultural proposal for residents and tourists who extend the holidays on the island.
