The Consell de Govern has announced this Friday the declaration as an investment of autonomic interest for the extension and refurbishment works of the Nuestra Señora de la Consolación private school, located in the municipality of Ibiza. This measure seeks to meet the growing educational needs of the island, marked by a significant increase in the school population and the need to improve the current facilities.
A response to educational demands in Ibiza
As reported by the Govern, the expansion project responds to the growing demand for school places due to the increase in the population of educational age. The initiative is also in line with the planning studies of the Ministry of Education and Universities, which stress the importance of reducing the ratios in the classrooms to ensure a higher quality education. With this reform, the center will be able to accommodate a larger number of students by incorporating the first cycle of early childhood education (0-3 years), expand the groups in the infant and primary stages, and consolidate the baccalaureate of arts by incorporating the second course. These improvements will allow not only to meet the current demand, but also to adapt to the future needs of the educational community of Ibiza.
The impact of the project on the center’s capacity
The Nuestra Señora de la Consolación school, which currently has 895 students, will offer an expanded and modernized educational offer. This initiative will strengthen all the school’s academic stages and provide an adequate space for the students’ educational development. The incorporation of new school places and the improvement of infrastructure are considered essential to guarantee the quality of education in a context of demographic growth on the island.
A commitment to quality education
The extension and refurbishment of this educational center underlines the commitment of the Balearic Government with the improvement of education in the Pitiusas Islands, marking an important step towards the modernization of educational infrastructures. According to the official statement, these actions will allow to offer a learning environment adapted to the current and future demands of the school community. With this decision, the Consell de Govern reinforces its commitment to ensure that all children and young people of Ibiza can access a quality education in facilities that meet the needs of the moment.
