The Health Area of Ibiza and Formentera has reinforced this year the Oral Health Service with the incorporation of a new team formed by a dentist and a dental hygienist.
The new team attends both adult and child patients of the health centers Es Viver and Sant Jordi de ses Salines, in a new quota of 18,304 health cards that, they assure, will allow to speed up and improve the attention received by the users of these two health centers. This reinforcement in oral health will attend six adult quotas of the Sant Jordi Health Center formed by 11,184 health cards; two Pediatrics quotas of the same center with 1,562 health cards; and three more quotas of the Es Viver Health Center composed of 5,558 cards. The Oral Health Service of the Health Area of Ibiza and Formentera is now composed of eight teams of dentists and dental hygienists in total.
More activity
The activity of the Oral Health Service of the Pitiusas has grown by 9.2 percent, with 27,353 consultations attended in 2024 compared to 25,038 in 2023. In 2023, 14,000 pediatric consultations were attended by the Oral Health teams of Ibiza and Formentera and 11,038 adult consultations, a figure that has increased in 2024 with 15,120 pediatric consultations and 12,233 adult consultations. Last year the portfolio of Oral Health services was expanded with the incorporation of children from zero to five years of age, pregnant women or head and neck oncology patients, among others.
