Future guaranteed for at least one more year for the Ibiza Yacht Club despite having a deficit of 146,102 euros in 2024 and still not having been able to find the headquarters in the port area with access to the sea that it has been looking for since it had to leave its historic facilities last May.
This is the summary of the annual meeting of members held on Tuesday at Can Ventosa. Obviously, the loss of the facilities it occupied for almost 10o years and, consequently, of the income obtained thanks mainly to the transient moorings marked the appointment, as it has significantly affected its economic and operational stability. During the meeting, the continuity of the entity was unanimously approved, despite the adversities, and elections were announced in February 2025 to renew the board of directors. Contrary to what the still president Juan Marí had expressed to people close to him, he did not resign. Marí did not clarify whether he will repeat in office, although it is taken for granted that he will not repeat in office.
Relief in the Club Nautico de Ibiza
The current president, Juan Marí, confirmed the opening of the electoral period after the Christmas holidays, at which time interested parties will be able to present their candidacies. The elections are scheduled for February. The assembly was held a few days after it became known that Juan Marí will sit in the dock for the ports case. He faces a request of three years in prison by the Prosecutor’s Office for a crime of continued prevarication. As well as the former mayor of Ibiza, the socialist Rafa Ruiz.

CNI presented at the assembly a budget of €557,142 for 2025, much lower than in 2023, when it reached €2.26 million. The accumulated losses during 2024 amounted to 146,102 euros, attributable to the loss of income from transient moorings. There is no deficit for the entity expected for next year thanks to the arrival of new sponsors and the support of the Consell de Ibiza and the Ibiza Town Hall. Without this, the expected loss would have been 165,438 euros.

The assembly was held at Can Ventosa because the club currently lacks a headquarters. For the moment, attempts to find a home near the sea in the port environment have been in vain.
