The busiest day at Ibiza airport will be next Friday, December 27, with 97 flights scheduled, which is expected to be a peak within the holiday schedule. In the Balearic Islands airports as a whole, 317 flights are scheduled for December 24, which represents a 22% drop compared to the equivalent day last year. However, this drop is explained by the fact that the Tuesday of the Christmas holidays last year fell on December 26, a traditionally busier date. Globally, between December 20 and January 7, Balearic airports will handle a total of 8,060 flights, marking a growth of 9.8% over the same period last year. At Palma airport, 5,910 operations are planned, 10.2% more than last holiday season. Friday 20 was the busiest day at Son Sant Joan, with 370 flights scheduled, 2.5% more than the first Friday of the holidays last year, which fell on December 22. At Menorca airport, scheduled flights totaled 716, up 27.4%. At MahĆ³n airport the busiest day will be next Sunday, December 22, with 48 take-offs and landings.
