The tranquility of Santa Eulària was disturbed on January 24 when a 56-year-old man suffered a brutal assault in the middle of the street. According to the Guardia Civil, the attack occurred stealthily, when the assailant, aged 26, approached from behind and hit the victim with a blunt object, causing him to fracture his elbow.
Beatings and robbery: the brutal outcome
After the first impact, which left the man dazed on the ground, the assailant continued with the violence, kicking him in the chest and face. In the midst of the assault, the offender took the opportunity to steal several personal items, money and credit cards before fleeing the scene. The victim, who was seriously injured, immediately reported the incident to the local authorities. The Guardia Civil of the Santa Eulària post immediately activated an operation to find the assailant.
A quick stop
Thanks to the cooperation of the public and to the actions carried out by the agents, the alleged perpetrator was located and arrested the following day, on January 25, while he was leaving an establishment. The young man is now facing charges of robbery with violence and intimidation.
