A resident of Sant Carles, 68 years old, lost his life early this morning, presumably by carbon monoxide inhalation. The tragic event took place in a house in the town, around 1 am, as reported by the Guardia Civil.
According to initial investigations, the man had lit a fire in a bucket, possibly with the intention of heating himself. It was his partner who, upon arriving at the house and not being able to enter, alerted the emergency services. However, despite the rapid intervention, nothing could be done to save her life. The autopsy will be in charge of confirming the exact cause of death, although everything points to carbon monoxide poisoning.
