A detachment of rubble in a house located on a third floor in the center of Ibiza forced the intervention of the Fire Department of the Consell de Ibiza, which secured the facade to prevent further collapses at the intersection of Madrid and Vicent Serra street, an area very close to the commercial hub of Vila.
The warning was passed on by the Ibiza Local Police, who alerted of the risk after part of the exterior cladding came loose during the afternoon.
Controlled detachment
According to the firefighters, “it was a fall of rubble; we have proceeded to a facade renovation”. From the insular body have indicated that there have been no injuries. In this area, where there are many premises and houses, it is usual the presence of pedestrians, so the action was focused on ensuring safety and delimit a perimeter of protection. The intervention, which lasted until nightfall.
The personnel worked at height using a ladder vehicle to remove loose elements and check the condition of the exterior cladding. The rapid action made it possible to restore normality without incident.
