Sa Unió does not cease to surprise: it presents documents incorrectly and jeopardizes the 2026 budgets.

The government team of the Consell Insular de Formentera never ceases to surprise, although always negatively. Now, due to an error in the presentation of documents, Sa Unió has jeopardized the approval of the 2026 budget in the last plenary session of the year to be held this Thursday.

Although the system is the same as for any proposal, the Government team has made a striking error. When they sent the calls to the informative commission (in this case the Accounts Commission) in point 3.1 it states that the initial approval of the budgets will be dealt with, although in the attachments there are no basic documents such as the Report.

These were emailed to the consellers 24 hours later. In addition, the proposal did not bear any signature.

For this reason, the opposition has rejected the presentation and carried out a vote as if it had been presented as a matter of urgency in the informative commission. However, since they did not have an absolute majority, it was rejected.

Now Sa Unió will be able to present again the budget of urgency in the plenary of next Thursday. But it will need again the absolute majority of the councilors of the opposition.

In case of not achieving it, Sa Unió will have to make an extraordinary plenary session or present it in January and, in the meantime, extend the budgets that end on December 31.

Increased spending and investment

The budgets prepared by Sa Unió contemplate an increase of 8.6 compared to 2025. The investment item is one of the fastest growing is one of the fastest growing items: 7.2 million euros7.2 million, a 46% more than in the previous year.
