The campaign to promote local commerce in Santa Eulària des Riu has closed the last Christmas holidays with an estimated economic impact of 400,000 euros, as reported by the City Council. The initiative, promoted jointly with Santa Eulària Empresarial and in which 32 stores in the municipality have participated, aimed to encourage local shopping during Christmas and Epiphany, one of the periods of highest consumption of the year.
The balance of the campaign reflects a high citizen participation, with about 15,400 participations registered in the various participating establishments. From the consistory emphasize that these data confirm the good reception of the initiative and its contribution to boost commercial activity in the municipality.
The prize draw, which is traditionally held in the Plaza de España before the arrival of Their Majesties the Three Wise Men of the East, had to be carried out telematically in this edition due to the rains. In total, 10,000 euros in prizes were distributed, including technological items, experiences and shopping vouchers to spend in local stores.
The main prize, valued at 6,000 euros, went to Luca Tondini, with number 53,292, corresponding to a purchase made at Bodegas Ribas. The lot included, among other items, a 13-inch iPad Pro, an electric scooter with helmet, a drone with camera, artistic drawing material, sports equipment, kitchenware, local products, a 5J ham, as well as a wellness treatment or a stay for two people in a hotel of the Guía de Hoteles con Encanto, with breakfast and dinner included.
In addition, eight 500-euro vouchers were distributed for purchases in participating establishments, whose winning numbers corresponded to purchases made at Boutique Distel, Calzados Guillén & Cotxu, Calzados Toñi, Bodegas Ribas and Perfumerías Clapés, among others. In addition, a 500 euro voucher for purchases in the municipal marketplace ShoppingRiu was awarded for a purchase made at Susana Sánchez Estudio Imagen.
The campaign was attended by some thirty businesses from a wide range of sectors, ranging from fashion and footwear to food, beauty, sports and gifts. The City Council of Santa Eulària des Riu has valued very positively the results obtained and stressed that such initiatives help to strengthen the local commercial fabric, encouraging local consumption and supporting small and medium enterprises in the municipality.
