The UD Ibiza again remained without celebrating a victory and without scoring a goal. This Sunday, the light blue team signed a new goalless draw (0-0) against Atlético Sanluqueño, in a match corresponding to the First Federation played away.
Despite the improvement in play and attitude, the team continues to fail to convert its chances and has now gone five games without a win, including the Cup defeat.
Since the arrival of coach Miguel Álvarez, Ibiza has not been able to make it three out of three. Under his guidance, the results still do not reflect the tactical evolution experienced by the team, which has yet to win or score a single goal.
No aim, no prize
In Sanluqueño’s field, UD Ibiza showed a more organized, dominant and ambitious version. The team played in the opponent’s field for a good part of the match, generated chances and kept control, but once again showed its big problem: the lack of goal.
Strikers Sofiane and Davo missed clear chances. In the most notable chance of the first half,
In the second half, the tone did not change. UD Ibiza maintained their dominance, with a great deployment of Del Pozo in midfield, and continued to accumulate chances. Davo had another clear opportunity after a previous mistake by Sofiane, but his shot into an empty goal did not find the target.
Even Sofiane came close to scoring again, as did central defender Nacho and Fede Vico in the final minutes, but neither could beat the home goalkeeper. The only action that ended in the net, a goal by Sofiane, was disallowed for a close offside. The television images did not help to clarify whether the decision was correct.
Improvement without reward
The starting eleven presented by Miguel Álvarez included Bebé, who, despite his attempts, had little impact in one-on-one situations.
The Celeste coach again opted for a two strikers and double pivot system, with Davo and Sofiane in attack, accompanied by Del Pozo and David García in midfield.
Although Sanluqueño hardly troubled the Ibizan area except in a couple of final actions, the Andalusian team used constant tactical fouls that interrupted the rhythm of the game and frustrated Ibiza’s attempts to string together continuous attacks.
Five games without a win
With this new draw, UD Ibiza now has five consecutive matches without a win, including elimination from the Copa del Rey.
But even more worrying is that, under the management of Miguel Álvarez, the team has only been able to score one goal in the 1-1 draw in the cup duel, which ended in elimination on penalties.
