The Local Police of Santa Eulària has carried out a special public safety operation between January 2 and 4, significantly increasing police presence in the center of the municipality. This device, in which 12 agents of the Citizen Security and Preventive Action units participated, had as main objective to carry out vehicle controls, searches in premises and identification of persons to ensure the tranquility of residents and visitors.
Results of three days of operations
During the nights of Thursday and Friday, the agents identified 28 people and checked more than 27 vehicles. This effort resulted in several sanctions for infractions such as lack of administrative authorization, vehicles with unfavorable ITV, positive breathalyzer tests, and possession of narcotic substances. One vehicle was also sealed and two others were withdrawn because they did not comply with the legal conditions to circulate. On Saturday, the operation reached its peak with the identification of more than 40 people and the search of two premises in the center of the municipality. These interventions resulted in new complaints related to drug possession and other legal infractions. Additionally, the vehicle controls resulted in sanctions for expired driving licenses, vehicles in inappropriate technical conditions and the investigation of a driver for lacking a driving license.
Commitment to public safety
The City Council of Santa Eulària has stressed that this operation is part of a comprehensive strategy to strengthen public safety, a priority axis of its management. This plan includes the implementation of a new structure in the local police department, with the arrival of new agents and the creation of specialized operational areas to more effectively address security challenges in the municipality.
