The City Council of Ibiza has appealed to the solidarity of the neighbors of the island to give a second chance to six dogs that have overcome situations of abuse and neglect. Max, Lobo, Terry, Cabezón, Tipo and Roy, rescued and rehabilitated by the Sa Coma Animal Protection Center, are now waiting to find families to take them in and offer them the home they deserve.
Stories of overcoming
Manuel Jiménez, councilman of Animal Welfare, has pointed out that the animals have received specialized care, allowing them to recover both physically and emotionally.e. The center’s veterinarian, Miguel Quiñones, explained the stories of each of these brave dogs, who have left behind difficult chapters to start a new stage.
Max, for example, suffered a trauma that was successfully treated, although he also had to overcome anxiety problems due to his past mistreatment. Now, this dog born in 2017 is completely healthy and ready to be adopted. Lobo, a Caucasian shepherd born in 2017, was found tied with a chain and without the necessary care, but thanks to the Sa Coma team, he has learned to trust and is affectionate with those around him. Terry, born in 2014, arrived at the center in critical condition due to extreme thinness and untreated leishmaniasis. Today, with his disease under control, he shows himself to be an energetic dog who would adapt perfectly to a family with outdoor space.
Cabezón, who arrived after the death of his owner, is a dog born in 2018 with a very affectionate character towards people, although he finds it difficult to socialize with other animals. Tipo, born in 2020, needed special care due to his nutritional condition and still requires attention with his feeding. Finally, Roy, born in 2016, suffered separation anxiety when his former owners could no longer care for him. Fortunately, he has overcome this situation and is ready to receive the affection of a new family.
A call for adoption and volunteerism
The City Council of Ibiza has recalled that, in addition to adopting, interested neighbors can collaborate as volunteers at the Animal Protection Center Sa Coma, helping in walking the dogs and in various tasks of the center. The opening hours are Monday to Wednesday and Friday from 12:00 to 14:00 hours, and Thursday from 15:30 to 17:30 hours.
