An accident this morning in the busy Avenida de la Paz, in Ibiza, has altered the routine of the area. An elderly female driver, at the wheel of a white Nissan Micra, hit a motorcyclist riding a Honda, just after the traffic light changed to green. According to initial indications, the collision occurred when the motorcyclist changed lanes.
The roar of the impact did not go unnoticed by passers-by and nearby drivers, who quickly alerted the emergency services, as reported by Diario de Ibiza. The scene soon became busy with the arrival of an ambulance and three Ibiza Local Police officers.
Immediate care of the injured
The motorcyclist was treated at the scene by a medical team and, after being stabilized, was transferred on a stretcher to the Policlínica Nuestra Señora del Rosario. Although the injuries have not been officially detailed, it is known that the man remained conscious at the time of his admission. On the other hand, the driver was not injured and cooperated with the agents to clarify what happened. The accident caused traffic to be cut off on the avenue for about ten minutes, causing minor traffic jams. However, thanks to the quick intervention of the officers, the traffic was completely restored in less than half an hour.
