The coasts of Formentera are, once again, news for the appearance of a corpse. The Guardia Civil has found a lifeless body in the area of s’Espalmador, which is added to three others found in January in the municipality. At dusk on Sunday, a neighbor contacted the Guardia Civil and told them that he had seen a body floating on s’Alga beach. The Special Group of Underwater Activities found it in an advanced state of decomposition, and transferred it to Ibiza to perform the autopsy at the Forensic Anatomical Institute, according to IB3 Radio.
Background
During January three other lifeless bodies had been found in Formentera. First, on January 7 , two tourists found two corpses in the area of Es Cavall d’en Borràs area.. Both were between 30 and 40 years old and showed no traces of violence. Then, on January 15, a lifeless body was found on the beach of Sa Torreta, also in s’Espalmador. The succession of these facts increases the hypothesis that these are migrants who were shipwrecked during the last weeks in an attempt to reach the Pitiusas by Pateras.
