The City Council of Ibiza has made Thursday night an intensive soapy cleaning in the neighborhood of Es Pratet to eliminate the strong odor that remained in the streets after the rain that fell during the day.
As happens with every storm, neighbors and merchants had expressed their discomfort with the smell of sewage that, as often happens in this neighborhood, spread through the area after the storm. The precipitation, which fell early in the morning, left waterlogged streets, debris and a persistent stench that again generated complaints among residents.
Following these protests, the City Council mobilized a cleaning operation with water and perfumed soap to neutralize odors and improve the condition of public roads.
The work was carried out throughout the day on the most affected streets, where the cleaning crews performed soapy buckets and removed debris accumulated by the dragging of rainwater.
The neighbors positively assessed the action, which they described as a quick and effective response. “It was a necessary cleanup. The smell was unbearable, but today the neighborhood smells clean,” commented a resident of the area.
