The extraordinary plenary session of the City Council of Sant Josep has empowered the mayor, Vicent Roig, to negotiate a legal transaction with the property of the apartments Don Pepe, after knowing the independent technical report that establishes the possibility of rehabilitation to be reoccupied by their owners.

According to the mayor after the plenary session, this is an “almost definitive” step towards the final resolution of this conflict.
Roig recalled that right now there are several open lawsuits about the eviction and the declaration of ruin that can “hinder” the possible solutions.
The PSOE has criticized that, after two and a half years in office, the mayor has brought to approval a proposal that does not resolve the situation of those affected.
“Today the ruinous situation of the building will not be reversed, the owners will not be given permission to return to their homes and the review process will not be initiated,” the Socialists have stated.
The formation has explained that, according to reports made by the same technicians who in 2020 and 2021 evaluated the eviction and the declaration of ruin, the building can be rehabilitated if it is invested in the reform about 3.7 million.
