Concern in Ibiza over two hit-and-runs on the same morning: both seriously injured

A 58-year-old woman and an 86-year-old man remain hospitalized at the Policlinica after being run over on 8 de Agosto Avenue and Pere Escanellas Street, in Sant Josep.

Two people have been seriously injured this Tuesday in two road accidents in Ibiza and in the municipality of Sant Josep. According to Grupo Policlínica, the accidents occurred early in the morning and both patients remain hospitalized with head injuries and subdural hematomas. Avenida 8 de Agosto and Pere Escanellas street, roads with heavy traffic, are once again at the center of road accidents on the island.

58 year-old woman run over on 8 de Agosto Avenue

A 58 year old Spanish woman was run over at about 8.00 am on Avenida 8 de Agosto, one of the main arteries of the city. An ambulance of the 061 and officers of the Local Police of Ibiza went to the scene. The medical personnel transferred her to the Policlínica Nuestra Señora del Rosariowhere she was admitted at 8.30 am. She suffered cranioencephalic trauma with subdural hematoma, radius fracture and polytrauma, and remains in intermediate care. This urban stretch has accumulated several incidents in recent years, according to previous information from La Voz de Ibiza.

Hit-and-run accident in Sant Josep to an 86-year-old man

The second accident took place in Pere Escanellas street, in Sant Josep, where an 86-year-old Spanish man was run over. The patient was admitted to the ICU at 10:30 a.m. with a cranioencephalic trauma with subdural hematoma, pelvis fracture and polytrauma, a condition considered to be of high severity.

The two injured remain under continuous medical evaluation, said Polyclinic sources.
