The Caminito restaurant building is owned by the family of the general secretary of Gent per Formentera (GxF), Sonia Cardona. This is the property in which the former president of the PP of Formentera, Juan Manuel Costa Escanellas Paya, and the Urgell family, the founders of Pacha, want to make a restaurant show, in the image and likeness of Lío de Ibiza, and received in December last year a controversial building permit by Sa Unió. And it was an express license granted by Sa Unió behind the back of the president of the Consell de Formentera and was granted in breach of the Planning Law of the Balearic Islands, as has been published exclusively and alone La Voz de Ibiza. This permit is part of the documentation that Llorenç Cordoba brought to the attention of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office and that has led to the investigation of the UCO that Sa Unió attributes, however, to the alleged lawsuit they claim to have filed and that they refuse to show. Sonia Cardona has not wanted to make any assessment on the news published by La Voz de Ibiza in this regard.
Es Freus, SL
The property on which Nimbus Formentera SL would have a lease is owned by the company Es Freus, SL, according to the registration documents in possession of this medium. The administrator of the same is Arturo Parrón Guasch, Cardona’s partner, and who replaced his father, Vicente Cardona Colomar, in the position in 2011, and who appears as proxy. Parrón Guasch is a historian and has written the book El Partido Comunista en Ibiza y Formentera (1932 and 1979), formation of which he has been coordinator in the Pitiusas in recent years. Behind the same society appears the Hotel Roca Plana, also owned by the family of the leader of Gent per Formentera.
Express license
The last steps of the license were completed at an unusually high speed with the aim of being able to incorporate the authorization by urgency to a government meeting to which Sa Unió already knew that the president could not attend because he was in Palma during the budget debate. In addition, the license for the legalization and rehabilitation of the building does not comply with the Urban Planning Law of the Balearic Islands in at least two aspects. One, it authorizes a basic project that does not comply with the regulations regarding the height of the second floor and that has to be corrected in the execution project, something that is expressly prohibited. And two, in relation to the activity, since the license application was to build a restaurant with entertainment. In spite of this, and instead of forcing the promoter to correct the deficiencies, the license was granted with all the favorable sectorial reports and with said prescriptions. According to experts consulted by La Voz de Ibiza, it is a null license. Be that as it may, the haste has not translated into the execution of the project, since the rehabilitation works have not started almost a year after having received the license.
